Weapon Selection

During the game, you will come across new and exotic weapons. However, during gameplay, you will not be able to see any given weapon's stats. This means you will have no idea what bonuses and subtractions a weapon may be effecting you with. The best thing to do is to simply pick up the weapon when it appears for the first time to unlock in at the Blacksmith's, then pick up the previous "trusty" weapon you started the level with. Once you have completed the level, head to the Weapon's Frog at the Blacksmith's and inside you'll be able to check and compare a weapon's stats with others...if you don't have the handy table below at your services.

Selecting the proper weapon is more about play style than anything else but some general rules apply across the board. A weapon with any more than a total of "-2"(all bonuses and subtractions that add up to a -3 or more) should be left in the frog. Weapons that have more than a total of "+2" are pretty good, more than "+4" is very good. ANYTHING with a subtraction, but not a bonus should most definetly be left in the frog. Also remember, a stat bar without attributes CANNOT be subtracted, this can be handy for weapons with a high subtraction in stat you dont have attributes in, since that subtraction doesn't count in your total. Also keep in mind even if your stat bar is full, a bonus from a weapon can still help that discipline. Also think about what kind of player you are. Almost any player of Castle Crashers can use bonuses to their overall strength. If you find yourself preforming combos and doing a lot of meelee attacks, find a weapon that has a high bonus in strength. However, if you tend to favor the use of magic, look for a weapon with a strong bonus to magic. See Attributes under Quick Stradegies to see the weapons with the highest boosts for each attribute, or look for the bonuses you want below.

Making the proper weapon choice can be daunting, but keep these things in mind. Go into a level with a weapon you know the stats of and only pick up and immediately drop new weapons as to not play through the end of the level with unknown disadvantages. Check new weapons in the Weapon's Frog (or the chart below) before storming through a level with it in hand.

"Easy way to get weapons"

The easiest way to gai all weapons is to find someone whom has all the weapons already. With him go to the Weapon Toad, have him equip the weapon you want and leave. Then go to the Tall Grass Field level and have him pick up the Wrench behind the Grey Knight fixing a catapult. When he picks it up his old weapon will drop and you will be able to pick it up and add it to your Weapons Toad. Repeat until you have al the weapons he has.
